I'm new here but started school at the first of the year and I'm one of the A students in my class and they asked me to finish building this grill.. The only thing that was done was the grill lid was cut out i would of cut it different but o well. I just wanted to see what you all think of it.. Attached Images
Reply:I just made 2 like that. For the legs I welded 1 3/4 pipe nipples so 1 1/2" pipe would slide through.I wanted the legs adjustable so it wouldn't wobble.Your base looks a lot better, but I would think that the handle would get hot.I welded angle brackets and used sections from a old shovel handle.
Reply:That lid has to be heavy. Maybe add a counter weight to the top. Looks cool though. Handle will get hotter than blazes. You are and will learn. Good Job!Lincoln Ranger 8 Lincoln 175 Drill pressLincoln 225 mig Plasma 8 ft brake 52" jump shear
Reply:I wanted to put a wood handle on it but the teacher wouldnt go get any but its for the cafiteria so they should be good with it i hope.. O ya the lid is heave that's why I put that 3/6 plate on the front to counter weight it when the lid is up..Last edited by Graydevil; 07-13-2009 at 09:51 PM.
Reply:If it's for the cafeteria, let THEM figure out they need a better handle .... unless they're going to be cooking on it for the student body ....Nice work on that grill. Personally, i would've cut the lid out from the center, leaving the ends of the barrel intact, but I guess you got out-voted on that on by the rest of the students...... |
