Well I got my new syncrowave 200 a couple of weeks ago because I am interested in TIG weldig. Here are a couple of my welds. I welded 2 pieces of 3/8 angle iron together. Here are my settings:Syncrowave 2003/32 Tungsten3/32 filler rod90 ampsI think I used a 1/2" cupArgon-13 CFHDo you have any suggestions to help me?http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...e/welds001.jpghttp://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...e/welds002.jpghttp://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...e/welds003.jpghttp://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...e/welds004.jpgand the new hood...http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x...e/welds005.jpgLast edited by wizzade; 09-16-2007 at 06:32 PM.
Reply:very nice welding, a little contamination here and there but thats just grinding oopies. nice hood!
Reply:Looks good, I can tell where you contaminated the tungsten and kept going. More filler, smaller beads. Otherwise you got it!David Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I agree with David R. Those look good, maybe a little more filler, or a little closer on the dabs. But you aren't going to have any problems with welds like that, they are good. And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.
Reply:thanks for the reply
Reply:Looks OK..But with only 90 amps??3/32 is too big for filler..Nice looking yes but the penetration is not there... Spending too much heat on the filler itself...Get some 1/16 and then you'll see results.. Or crank it up to 150 amps.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Thanks for the info...its hard to teach yourself these kind of things when you dont know what your doing in the first place
Reply:Your filler isn't too big. Your welding 3/8 plate. Just maybe little more amps. |
