Nothing as glamorous as what some of you guys do, but I make a living out of my garage at home building this stuff. 1st pic is a pile of sheared piecessecond one is lay out.the third is clamp and tac4th is close up of welds. ( now, if anyone wants to pic on these welds, I sheared, bent and welded all this stuff yesterday to install today. I was kinda in a hurry. There is about 80 lf of weld in this project before installation.5th pic is completed weld. 4 lf 2 times per section of duct.Wife called for dinner, I will post the batch of duct after din din. Reply:Little heavier than what I had pictured for "duct work", ..That bead looks pretty consistant. You've have it dialed in.
Reply:Guess it depends on the duct. And it depends on the process used to weld the seams.I forget, but Gclamp doesn't do a lot of wire welding. If that's stick, it's outstanding control on thin stuff. If it's wire, it's also good control. Maybe it was Gizzardgutz that doesn't do wireI base everything on what I'm capable of, and if it's good compared to the hack job I do, it's GOOD."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:must be some kitchen..that duct could handle hot high pressure air..is it hood exxhaust? cant see why it needs so much reinforcement,, seems like some high pressure duct youd find in industrial, not kitchen applications..
