You can just barely see the puddle, but its there.  Notice when I move up, the arc goes much darker.  That is because it goes into the root pretty deep.  this is the best of about 10 attempts..045 wire 175 ipm, Co2 gas, 19.5 volts.  I pointed the mig gun way up so it wouldn't be blocked by the gas cone.  I usually point the gun almost straight into the groove.Here is the final bead.  Yes, I got a spark down my neck.  Got me!Here is the same weave on a different job, .030 wire AG8 gas, 240 ipm, 18 voltsDavidLast edited by David R; 09-30-2007 at 07:47 PM.Real world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:This vid was the pitts.  I only posted it because we tried about 10 times to get it right. I said I would do it, but didn't think it would be that hard to see.  The stick one came out better. Reply:I did some experimenting with videoing TIG a while back... see if your cam will allow you to control the iris, and/or shutter speed.  I put mine on 'sports' mode and controlled the iris manually.  using a naked lense ( no filter ) you can almost see what's going on.  Maybe a cutting filter...?
