Well I just replaced my tig torch after my last one grew legs along with the bag of consumables. I don't tig much and have always scratch tigged from a cc source. My last torch was a wp17v. I kept it rolled up in a bag with all the extras in the bag as well. I also kept a spare regulator and all my tungstens and tig stuff in that bag. It was easy just grab it and have everything. Well I don't have it anymore.Since I don't tig much I am limited in my knowledge in consumables and their exchangeability. I purchased a wp26v 25'r for 50 dollars. It is larger than what I am accustomed to but for 50 buck I will not mind. Well I am trying to gear up am looking for the least expensive route to building my bag back. So here is the question. Is a 10n31 collet body the same regardless of who makes it? Miller, Lincoln, Esab, Weldcraft, Anchor, Profax, etc. all make a 10n31. Is it the same? Can I interchange them? What about the back caps? The 57Y04 is made by several makers. Are they interchangeable?I wouldn't normally be bothered by the cost as I have always just purchased weldcraft named parts through the employer but I am looking several hundred in total cost and I am looking to trim that down as much as I can in these times. I will bite the bullet if I need to, but to get back to where I was it is going to hurt a little.
Reply:Yes, Scott, they are interchangeable.
