PORTA POTTY!!! My brother and I decided it was time for a camping porta potty that could straddle a hole in the ground without being unstable. We whipped this up tonight. The legs and toilet paper holder all come apart and is very portable. Seems to be very solid too. Attached Images

Reply:R-O-L-A-I ... Oh, wait ..... wrong kind of relief ....I like Sam's idea of pulling it up to the table afterwards. You even got your own napkins right there!Seriously though, great work. Best thing I've seen since the "Bumper Dumper" that fit into a trailer hitch ..... I agree with weldbead about putting up a "safety rail" on the front, though - be kinda embarrassing to come back to the campsite with the back of yer shoes covered in ........ whatever.Last edited by SpyGuy; 06-04-2009 at 02:51 PM.

Reply:Nice job. Could have used one of those in Iraq in the early days when we were cobbling them together out of whatever we could scrape together.
Reply:Splash guard would probably be a good idea, but remember there will be a 1 or 2 foot hole in the ground under it.... hence the wider stance on the legs (to safely straddle the hole).
Reply:hell throw a bucket under it and use it in the shop lol this would have been great for my last wheeling tirp . lets just say if theres vines on a tree fine a diffrent tree to lean on.
Reply:Used to do the lean your back against a tree thing. Worked fine until one night when the bunch of us had been doin' serious suds all day long.Amazing how fast your feet slide out from under you if they don't have a good bite"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:Well you know us guys and our crappers (at least according to the former sweetheart) a magazine rack would be a nice addition. Butt what would be real cool.......... a Lazy boy mechanism....and a rod holder for surf fishing
Reply:Well, just got back from the camping trip and I have to say the porta-potty was a big hit. Some of your recommendations were also suggested by the users.... namely a splash guard and a brace behind the back to lean upon (mostly for the kids that are used to leaning back against the toilet lid)
Reply:See? Told ya so .... Any mention of the magazine rack, the fishing rod holder, and the footrest?Another (minor) suggestion: put small flat plates on the bottoms of the legs to keep it from sinking into the ground. You could weld a 4" long piece of 2" pipe to the back center of it so you can slide a 3' pipe into it. At the top of the pipe you can make a halo about the size of a hola hoop and hang a shower curtain around it for privacy. Plus the pipe would act as the back rest for the toilet seat.Last edited by Oxide; 08-02-2009 at 07:35 PM.
Reply:That certainly is useful! I got something like that in the works using a lowly milk 'crate' with a rotten plastic top. Maybe I can take care of it soon as I finish the gun rack on my atc. Pix to come...soon. That roll holder sure makes it look sophisticated. Mine won't have that though it beats sitting on hot A$$ rocks that have little jagged points like petrefied mud that got rained on.Last edited by 3 weelin geezer; 08-02-2009 at 10:52 PM.
