I did a little repair job on go-kart for a friend of mine. the motor mount bolt broke the cast alum. block and left a hole 2''x3'' in the top of the block for sand to go in ,and oil to come out. I JB weld this ear back in. I thought about tiging it but, I never seem to have good luck with all that oil. just can't get it clean . that and I was lazy I didn't want to pull the motor. I stuck the blow gun in the oil fill tube and grind the repair area. now this don't carry any load I made a new motor mount on the bottom of the motor. with a shock bushings and milled an adjustment slot so the motor could move to adj. the drive chain. I also welded the lower control arm back on. It was tore off by tree, and made a tree guard.Daye Attached Images

Reply:I don't know; did you check JB's welding qualifications first, to see if he's certified by the DOT? I've heard he tends to run his welds kinda cold, compared to most other weldors here.I would also consider suing the tree for getting in the way of the vehicle; it's the modern way, you know. That would buy you not only a new engine, but the latest model vehicle too--assuming your lawyer didn't decide he needed to drive it first, and the same thing happened again....
Reply:Does he have a City of L.A. have a cert for horizontal, installed. |
