Tube welds done on exo

Here is a project we have almost finished.   Must say I like mig alot better then flux core but I wish I was better.   So be harsh so I can learnWelded with a MillerMatic 252 that I bought a month ago.  Just started migging 3 weeks ago.Settings16.8 volts245 wire speed20 CFM Attached Images

Reply:About the only thing I can pick on is the first pic.... a little too dark. Other than that, it looks great! That's gonna be one badass rock crawler.And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.

Reply:I'm not a pro, but.....Make small circles when you weld.  The forward part going in the up direction.   OR you could move back and forth from piece to piece in a Z or C or U motion.  Your welds will look better.  Try it.Sorry, these are not on tubes. but......  When Mig welding, you have to weld the two pieces together. Stick welding you weld the groove.Very nice roll cage.Real world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I would say slow your feed a little and take a little more time smoothing out the pool and you can get results like David's that look tiged.

Reply:what is the roll cage welding standard in the usa? over here you must be a certified welder or show that you can weld to that standard.the day you stop learning in this tradeis the day your in your grave
