I had to weld a pipe on my own car yesterday. I did the end with the big gap with my SP100. I did the other end with 1/16 6013 to see if I could do it. Not really.The pipe was in pretty good shape. Reply:With the stick, I tried 45 amps, then 35, then settled on 40 or so. My down hand welding sucks. I almost never use that method with stick. MIG was vertical down. I learned here you can do that.
