I just joined a few minutes ago after reading some posts. I know nothing about welding, but I'm willing and hoping to learn. I have a used fuel rail that has been laying around for awhile that I want to modify. It currently has a single fuel inlet connector on the driver side rail. I would like to add another fuel inlet connector to the passenger side fuel rail. I've heard that the best method is tig or fluxing. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. For reference, here is what the fuel rail connector looks like.http://www.summitracing.com/parts/RUS-640930I imagine you are going to ask me what type of metal the fuel rail is made of, but I have no clue. I'm going to say carbon steel simply because it has rust on the outside, but is in good overall condition.I'm thankful for any feedback I receive.Regards,Mike
Reply:May not be what you want to hear but how about good old fashioned compression fittings, cheap, easy, dependable.  Before you put any heat to a fuel rail that has been in service make sure you get it good and clean so you don't have an explosion. Don't know if you are talking about a used or brand new rail. Could TIG it or Braze it. Maybe a solder as well."Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum"Lincoln Idealarc 250 AC/DCMillermatic 251   Syncrowave 300   30A spoolgunLincoln MP210Hypertherm 45(2) LN 25(2) Lincoln Weldanpower 225 CV(4) SA200   1 short hood    SA250    SAM 400
