I am new to tig welding and bought a used machine that came with a pretty heavy duty torch. I would like to get a smaller light weight torch for welding tube frames and need it to be light and maneuverable. Any suggestions on a high quality water cooled torch that meets this description? Thanks.
Reply:The old basic HW-20. Different manufacturer's make there own versions of the various standard torch models, and torch components are standard between manufacturer's.http://www.arc-zone.com/
Reply:yep, there's not many welds that can't be reached with a 20 series and they're normally rated @ at least 250A DC / 180A AC
Reply:The parts for this torch can be purchased at any LWS, they are all the same. JohnSMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases. There all here. :
Reply:I use a weldcraft. it is the 20 series it is rated for 300 amps I think. It has red blue and black braided cables.I have found these to work best with a cooler,it doesn't heat up as much. I think it has 2 power wires in the power cablle. I have had good luck with these.
