Got a test coming up on .062 6061 alluminum. 100% argon for purge and torch. I'm thinking a 3/32 gap with 3/32 4043 wire and a 1/16 root face. Waiting on the WPS to come in before proceeding, But wanted to get opinions and ideas on how this should be done. Any tips on wave balance? I am also thinking 3/32 pure tungsten, But the shop has only got 1/16" right now.I don't want to overheat the tungsten and dissipate it into the weld as this will be x-rayed.The machine is a miller synchrowave 335 I beleive. Should I go with a feathered land or the slight 1/16 root face? Thanks for any comments and help! |
