okay....i've got a lay-out question....what's the formula for figuring out take-off for a weld tee turned 45 degrees(off vertical) and straightened with a 45 degree fitting. using 8" pipe...???
Reply:Tee is 7" centerline to face of weld bevel....45 ell is 5" center line to face....which equals 12" run center line to center line. That will be the takeoff from center of 8" tee to face of 45 ell. The take off for elevation will require you to multiply the run (12") times .707 to find the set which is 8.488". This is from center of 8" piping to center of 8" off of 45 ell......I would draw this out for you but my work PC wont allow me to up load pics...if you still need this I can do it once I am home......A young green pipe welder asked an old salt one day...How can I make the weld on the bottom of the pipe look like the top.......The old salt replied....Screw up the top......
Reply:thxx for quick response...yes a drawing would help quite a bit....thanks again for the help
