replacing a dump body on and F350, Remember , Safety Last! Don't worry that skid loader has manual safety locks on the boom so it can't come down. I also put improvised legs on the other end. If my sons did this I would kill them. Reply:This could be a dumb question, but why not flip it upside down?
Reply:Not a dumb question, good Idea. But with the skid loader I really can't handle it too gently and didn't want to bend it up . Also it was laying down good and didn't need much pressure to get it tight to the channels. If I had flipped it I may have had to push it up to the frame and would then have to flip it back to mount it. Just as easy to burn the hell out of myself overhead. Reply:That skid loader is well within capacity and it has manual dogs that drop in to keep the boom from creeping, the tilt on the forks is live but I did clamp up some struts on the other end. No real danger,I started on a pair of horses but this old body just don't like crawling on the floor anymore. Note the dirty seat of my pants, not good. Even though I kid about it I do work pretty safe, I always put something between me and the" crusher" when I was running pile driving gangs I always harped on the guys if your not under it , it can't get you. Stand to the side or use tag lines. They use to say I was a pain in the ***. But 16 years of rigging every day, we built a lot of big things, the thing I brag about most is not what we built  but that everybody went home every time with all there fingers and toes. Reply:I like using my 24" saw horses.  I just lay on the creeper and weld over my chest.  It's kinda nice, cuz I can lay a few beads and then take a nap.  One of these days I'm going to get a headrest figured out that clears the adjustment knob on the helmet headgear.My name's not Jim....
