We had our first real day of welding lab class last night. I've welded for years as a hobbyist in my garage with a tombstone and finally lately a Stickmate LX AC/DC machine, but it's been very occasional usage only. I've welded since I was barely a teenager until now 15 years later, but only more than once or twice a year until about a year and a half ago when I decided to tear this car apart and rebuild it again. In that time I've made some slapper type traction bars and some subframe connectors, and otherwise it's been very occasional repair use with the stick welder.
