They seem to be few and far between in The Austin/Killeen area. Anyone know of any they can recommend?Steve in Central TX
Reply:A bit to the north is my alma mater: Texas State Technical College in Waco. Before I started at TSTC I had never welded with anything except a 110V Harbor Freight MIG machine. During my second semester I got a job as a weld engineering intern in Temple and by the time I graduated had made enough money to completely pay off the school (no grants/financial aid/scholarships) and buy a Dynasty 200DX and a Miller Elite hood as a graduation gift for myself. My former roommate and (between semesters) co-worker maroon pride is currently attending.Visit Tensaiteki.com
Reply:Austin Community College has degrees in welding, etc. Reputed to have one of the best. Runs the gamut from "art" welding, basic stick all the way to computer controlled orbital something or other... I have no idea. I just took adult education classes. I suspect TSTC is excellent, too, but have no idea. |
