Traveling Welders

I should be graduating this summer and I am very interested in traveling. I'd really like to get a helper job after school but I would really like one that travels, I am also very interested in working overseas. If anyone can shed light on good jobs that travel or how to get overseas jobs please share. Reply:Dont bother getting certs. Cause you will have to test all over for the job anyways. Just be prepared to qualify for what ever the employer is testing for. Not sure about over seas. I think they are covered for welders around the world and the pay is much lower. Thats why they come here. If you want to travel you may want to be a pipe welder. Try to get in a union like the UA Travelers. Nonunion, not sure. Build a rig welding truck be prepared to pass some pipe welding and fitting tests and you will be able to travel the country. You will be able to visit some really exotic and exciting places like ND and Ohio, maybe even central Texas. Welding, its not just a career, it is an adventureWelding everything, from the crack of dawn to a broken heart.
Reply:GET THE CERTS. If your gonna try and get into a union the will give you preference points to get in.aws 6g tube certs, etc. most welding jobs can be a transiet.

Reply:Thanks guys, I'm already planning on applying at my local pipefitters union in may because they only accept applications once a year. The only down side is i'm not suppose to graduate until this summer ( I didn't wanna pass up my chance to apply this year) so all I will have to show is a couple of certificates from my school instead of my actual welding diploma.
