what stick to use ???

alright so i wanna weld my exhaust together on my car i got a miller stick welder and im welding a stainless steel exhaust i need a to know wat size stick to use for all positions

Reply:yah i have to stick weld it all i got i was hoping for more of a certain answer like type of rod and size the metal is prolly a little thicker than 14g
Reply:Stick weld exhaust?Good luck.....zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:if you know your material and use the link provided you'll have your answer. for any type of welding you need to know your base metal first.
Reply:For carbon steel, I used 1/16" 6013 DCEN.  Its a bitch.  The pipe is too thin for stick.  Yeah, there are a couple here that can do it, but........  Just MIG IT.Like Zap said Good LuckDavidReal world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:A 14-ga. SS exhaust?  Goodness.  Can you verify that thickness again?For a 14-gauge stainless pipe, I would be using 3/32" E308, E309, or even E316 electrodes, whichever of the three I had available.  Do you know the correct alloy of the stainless to be welded?
Reply:Oh, and you'll want a DC Stick welder; not all of them are.
Reply:I remember when I used to weld exhausts (with o/a and later 3/32 6010) but now I just haul it to a muffler shop.The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
