Reply:Great bunch of projests there...
Reply:Those are all very cool. How did you do those leaves? Did you use pipe or rolled sheet metal for your bbq/smoker?Thanks
Reply:thanks guys! the smoker was 10 gauge rolled steel and for the wine rack the leaves were a bought cast item and the grapes are ball bearings.

Reply:That's nice, can you tell the thought behind the two stacks on the cooker. I'm about to build one and looking for ideas.
Reply:I want to build a similar jib hoist. Can you post some pics of the hinges and how it is attached to the post. Thanks
Reply:thanks guys for the nice words. well first off, the headers are for a 53 Mercury project i've been working on for a while and figured I'd have the only one around with some fenderwell headers. It was a tough project because I lowered the car so much I didn't have a lot of room to work with. I really just put the 4 inch stacks on the cooker for looks, but you can see the thumb screw that actuates a butterfly and makes it blocks off the flow and makes it more of a smoker. The hinges on the jib boom were the hardest part of the project to figure out. If your thinking about buying them, you better be ready to spend some major bucks! I will take a closer picture of how I made them it would be hard to explain on here. I really need to change it and put an I beam on there I had left over 2 X4 1/4wall tubing and arc welded the crap out of the 3/8 plate on the bottom or it as well as plug welding it and through bolting it. not the best, but saves my back a lot. |
