I got a side job to turn this trailer into a crawfish boiling rig. He wanted it bolted to the trailer instead of welding it, and this is what I came up with, and when he picked it up this morning was happy the way it came out. So here's a few pics.pic 1 start of projectpic 2 & 3 fab for uprightspic 4 uprightspic 5 extended I-beam for hoist Attached Images

Reply:Hey- if you gotta try that rig out, give me a call! Some crawfish would be nice. Been running a little small so far this year, unless you got a source?Peter
Reply:I would love some to, but at $3.00lb (live), I'll have to wait. Even the crawfish in the basin are small. Another cold snap this weekend. The guy that owns the rig has several boils, but until the crawfish get bigger everythings on hold. What part of Louisiana are you from?
Reply:Nice work. Is he going to put a skin on the trailer, or just put tarps on if it rains?"SOUTHPAW" A wise person learns from another persons mistakes;A smart person learns from their own mistakes; But, a stupid person.............never learns.
Reply:Thanks, yes he's going to put an aluminum top that comes down 15" on the sides with his name and phone number.

Reply:ZTFab, ThanksI don't know what was used to make the arches, the owner asked me to give him the outside measurements and he would see about getting the material and have the arch made. I do know he had a machine shop make the bends, but as to what type of machine was used I don't know.

Reply:Hello Joker11, I did fab up everything except the arches. I didn't have any way of making them without putting a kink in them. But I did make some good money. The customer was satisfied with job he brought me his older one for repairs. Its nice to get good jobs every once in a while. |
