I have to extend these columns (6"X6"X13' square tubing) to 16'. I have 18 that will be 16' and 9 that will be longer for the center columns, but the customer isn't sure how much of a pitch he wants yet. They're going to be used to build a hay shed (90'X120'X16'). Attached Images
Reply:Seems like more work than it's worth. Reusing stuff takes more prep time. So he must figure your time is cheaper than the materials. Some of those look like they have been spliced already!!!Keep us posted!Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain

Reply:Hello Joker11, your right it does take more time to prep, and I told him that, but he said he bought this real cheap. The one that looks like it was spliced, was backed into by a forklift and the angle was put on for reinforcement, and thats one that will be cut into 3' pieces. He bought these columns, some 14" I-beams, and some trusses.
Reply:It's not as easy as working with new material, but I like to recycle, especially when the price is right. Looks like that will make a nice shed.Work HARDER, not smarter! ------------------------ Miller Bobcat 250Millermatic 251Lincoln Precision TIG 185Hypertherm PM 600Hobart 135 HandlerOxweld 400 FlameMaster
