here's a puzzle I had to put together for a customer
Reply:Looks nice. How wide are the treads? The last pict looks strange, stair width vs ceiling height. I'm guessing this is a fairly wide tread..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:16" center pipe 4'- tread width, thru a 10'- hole from basement to 2nd floor, in the future he's going up to a lookout with a smaller set

Reply:It was a kit he located out of the lower 48. I was just asked to assemble the puzzle he had on his floor. First thing was finding a starting point second thing was figuring how to set it up by my self. Here's my start pointLast edited by IRONARTIST; 02-05-2010 at 01:17 PM.

Reply:I think that is the first time I ever saw pictures of Alaska during the summer month(s). Outrageous views, how many miles to the east can you see? Reply:East, not to far from here it pretty much goes right into big granite peaks for quite a ways were in the south central part of the state but on a clear day looking north west beyond mckinley I've seen what I thought was 500 miles clear into the brooks range 1/2 way across the stateLast edited by IRONARTIST; 02-06-2010 at 12:21 AM.
Reply:Interesting job there, up in the land of Palin.  And with a little Lincoln, eh?  A 175 or a 180? And I don't see a gas cylinder, so you used FCAW wire, right?  What wire did you use?The machine had enough 'snot' for the sheetmetal steps, but how did you ensure getting enough fusion into that big piece of pipe?  The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...
Reply:035 hard wire with co2(2nd pic) all the way around uphill on the verts and by the time the pickets were welded in there's enough strength it would be hard pressed to rip a tread off.Last edited by IRONARTIST; 02-06-2010 at 03:34 AM.
Reply:Cool projects (checked out facebook too).  Looks like "God's Country" up there.  Money sure isn't everything, is it?Work HARDER, not smarter! ------------------------ Miller Bobcat 250Millermatic 251Lincoln Precision TIG 185Hypertherm PM 600Hobart 135 HandlerOxweld 400 FlameMaster
Reply:Yup, Alaska is gods country alright
Reply:All your projects look really good, but those pictures of Alaska, words just can't describe the beauty of that state. Your a lucky man to be able to live in such a place. I'm jealous.
