Today I was welding and all of the sudden the welds started expanding and bubbling with little holes in them. I think the gas stopped coming out of the tip. So I checked the tank and even detached it from the welder to check for flow, everything seemed fine. Maybe the trigger-activated gas vale stopped working. Maybe I crushed the gas-flow tube with my knee when I was welding low.

The guys at the tech school of the 1/2 unscrew the nozzle retainer on some of the Tweeco guns and it will cover the gas ports blocking flow. They can't seem to remember they pulled off the nozzle to clean it before the gas stopped flowing and forget to check that.
Reply:I concur with DSW...... Turn wire speed all the way down (so u don't waste too much wire). Hold the nozzle up to your ear (without poking your eardrum) and squeeze the trigger. Do you hear the gas comming out? Maybe lick the back of your hand and feel if gas is comming out over your wet hand. It really sounds like you're not getting shielding gas flow. Also, try to avoid CHEAP AZZED WIRE at all costs!!!!!! Harbor FRIGHT and "Radnor" (Airgas house brand) crap! Stick with Lincoln, Hobart or ESAB consumables.
