We've finished about 100' of this cable rail.  The outside rails are powdercoated with texture along with the balcony.  The interior rail is bare steel, sand blasted and sanded top rail with clear powder coat.  The grating is extruded aluminum which cost 750 bucks to cover approx 38 square feet. Reply:Here's some more..We arnt going to install the cable for another month or so.  The swaging machine is 200 bucks a day and we want to complete all the rails before renting it.  Because the rails are so tight against the walls, the s.s. receivers will be installed beforehand.  The rail is running about 100 bucks a foot, installed. Reply:$100.00 per foot? We did about 200' last year for $275.00 per foot! Funny how much people will pay just to upstage their neighbors.
Reply:That would be nice to get that kind of money for cable rail.  But there are a few guys out here that do it and kinda set the price for the areaCommon sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
Reply:Thats sort of the way we got that much for this job, except the other stuff was done with galv. fittings and industrial parts. our sample used the hidden stainless fasteners and was nice and clean. The other side is that  the supplies cost so much the profit is the same as a mid-level powder coated rail.
Reply:Yeah, we are going with invisiware receivers also.  With 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 1/4" square tube, they just barely stick out (1.56" long) with the addition of the powder coating.  It is a nice look.  We installed 3 of the rails this morning and are going back later this week when they do a little more wood working for us.  The cable isnt going to be installed for at least another month so we are putting some temporary fishing line in it's place so the lady's dogs dont commit sideways.Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
