This is my new project that I just finished. It matches my English Wheel. I used a 1 1/4 inch thick by 14 inch diameter steel plate and welded a 5 inch o.d diameter  by .250  thick wall. I then cut the tubing pieces that hold the hammers to the sizes that I wanted then welded them to the center section, and then welded the section to the main tube.  Lastly, a plasma cut 19 inch diameter plate 3/8 inch thick was welded to the top of the stand, and I used a scrap piece of  metal grating inside of the center section to hold all of my dollies. It was then prepped and painted. Can you tell what the center section was made out of ? Attached Images

Reply:Those are great! Does that painted one have adjustable footing, or did you manage to keep the plate perfectly flat? It looks to be a slip on flange, but no holes. I suppose you would have a tough time warping that.BillUA Local 598

Reply:welders first project is usually a cart..i guess anyone  that starts hammering sheet metal makes a bowl ..i made this  because i needed it.. it catches bacon grease out of the black pan, and i can tell you it sees a lot of use.it evolved, i went back 3 or 4 times to make steeper sides/more volume, because i eat a lot of bacon..
