Reply:just a side observation: if your welding near those paint cans you need to cover them or put them in a protective cabinet - fire cabinet - mig welding puts out a lot of sparks and you dont want to start a fire from a spark hitting a can and melting through or hitting the cap and melting the opening of the can.I break things for a living...
Reply:Its just junk I was just farting around. Never knew how to test welds. A older guy saw me welding as he walked by. Told me he was a 35 year Navy welder. Asked if my welds were strong. He told me how to test them. I welded these 2 togeather grabed the biggest adj wrench I had and gave it a good twist. He said that will do.

Reply:My hay guy, who's in his seventies, delivers round bails in a home made trailer that has some truley appalling looking welds, splatter all over the place. Not wanting to insult him but fishing for information, I asked him how old it was and when he had built it. He said his father had built it in 1947. Had strange looking bar grating that he informed was a section of WWII surplus metal landing strip they would put down to make air fields. Those welds look like hell..........But hard to argue with longevityDaKK
