Hey guys just picked up a Lincoln wm255. I noticed that if i pull the trigger on the torch, and i'm not striking an arc that the wire speed is really slow for the first few seconds then the wire speed kicks up. Is this normal? I also noticed that the fan didn't kick on, Is there a heat censor built in or maybe the fan is shot? First Lincoln and my Miller didn't do this. So any help would be great. Thanks, 66ply
Reply:I have that machine. Its all normal. The fan will come on when you start working the welder hard. It shuts off automatically.Wire speed thing is normal too. It sensed the arc and speeds the wire up as soon as contact is made. Nice machine!DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
