Hi, The manual for my new ThermalArc 185 recommends 7 liters/minute for the type of test weld I want to do tonight. My regulator is calibrated in cu ft/hr. How do I do the conversion? I found a conversion table on the web and figured I should set it at 2.1 cu ft/hr, but that seems way low. Am I doing my math right?thanks!ThaddeusAn odd fellow, but nice enough. I build "interesting" things.
Reply:7 LPM = close to 15 CFH.  I converted it once.David Real world weldin.  When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.

Reply:I think you are close enough David.   JohnSMAW,GMAW,FCAW,GTAW,SAW,PAC/PAW/OFCand Shielding Gases.  There all here. :
Reply:For future reference, just go on Google and search for "7 liters/minute to cubic feet/hour"
Reply:Next question: if I set the gas flow rate too high, could it harm the weld? Or is it just a question of wasting money?I'd rather err on the side of getting a good weld, if adding a little more argon will help...An odd fellow, but nice enough. I build "interesting" things.

Reply:there is .035 cuft / liter      and obviously 60 min / hrso 7 to 10 lpm =7*.035*60 = 1410 * .035*60 = 21or, and this is handy, you pretty much just double the number! no calculations necessary 7=14 10=20.just multiply by 2.well actually 2.1 times.  (5% error is totally meaningless).
