Finally got it finished. First time burning wood when I moved in here last March, it'll be the last year for splitting by hand. Only thing I screwed up was origonally I had planned on using a vertical shaft Honda which would have put the suction and return on the other side (back)  but Princess Auto had theirknockoff horizontal shaft 13Hp on sale for CAN$229 awhile back so I bought one of those. That's why the suction hose goes underneath instead of out the back.Next project is a back blade for my Bolens. Reply:Looks good and stout.  I have a splitter that attaches to my old Farmall, its actually for a 3 point hitch.  I have thought several times about converting it to a pull type but never made it.  Do you have any progress pics? Reply:You must split smaller logs than me. There's no way I could heft my logs up onto that thing. Course alot of the logs I'm splitting are 2/12- 3 feet in diameter. Wish I had a vertical log splitter.

Reply:I prefer a vertical/horizontal.  Most of the wood I split is too heavy to pick up.  I like the horizontal setting for cutting kindling.
