miller synchrowave 250

Hi Everyone I have a older miller syncrowave 250 & I need the circuit board repaired and checked out,, can anybody steer me in the right direction, of someone I can send it to who is honest and won't charge  me a arm & a leg,, as far as I know it only needs 1 little transformer ,,that is all that is visibly wrong,, I have tried radio shack and all the electronic places around me with no success & even contacted the transformer manufacturer but they will not sell to the public! our supposed miller guy in my area I can't get him to call me back.NEED THE MACHINE BAD. Reply:Thanks vw guyI am checking with both these guys but still hoping for a little cheaper like someone who does it in there spare time,, the second one has 12 in stock for about 4 bills a board,, and I hate to spend that when all I need is 1 little transformer,, hit hard with the economy and just not eat up with money right now. thank you Tony
Reply:Sad thing is very few people learn how to trouble shoot individual parts on boards these days. You need to find someone who is "old school". The only guy I knew of retired down to Florida last year and ended up tossing all his parts because no one was interested in the stuff even when he was trying to give away  the stuff enmass. Too much of the stuff today is all sealed and difficult to get to or so tiny it's not worth the trouble to work on. Now all the stuff is simply plug and play for the most part..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:I Know for sure 1 thing that is wrong with the board, the little 1 inch transformer is GONE! i swear a mouse nibbled it off,, it wasn't under the welder and all that's there is the 6 little post where it was ,, this particular board has 4 all in a row  and with one missing its kinda a no brainer,, but when the transformer is replaced I would still like someone to test it.who is more electronically savvy than I am. was on the phone for a long time with http://innovatcorp.com/,, they will replace the transformer and check the board for $325.00. their website says they have 6 in stock but the person I talked to said they don't have any,, and unless I can find somebody else on here I guess thats what I will do. They said the turnaround would be around 3 weeks.Tony
Reply:I used York eletronics to repair my board on my MM210
