Do you have different helmets that you use for different types of welding? Reason I ask is because my miller hood is awesome, I love it, no questions and I have used it for tig for a long time. Few months ago I picked up the hobart MIG and used it, I noticed that the lens cover gets dirty a lot quicker, so I just continue to keep cleaning it off. This past week I started welding one of the boxes and noticed that it was really dark. I turn the shade down to 8 and it was still really dark. Almost like I'm using a cheap0 helmet.I'm wondering if it's from the MIG, or what it is? I may end up installing a light over my bench to help, but that is just a band-aid fix.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
Reply:I use the same hood for everything. Unless it won't fit, then I use a sock hood. Attached ImagesDont pay any attention to meIm just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
