Q about Oxy/Fuel setup

Hello,I have a question about the gas regulators.  Are they the same in Europe as they are in the US.  I'm seriously thinking about going back home.  Should I just sell my victor and buy another one when I get there?  Any thoughts?Lincoln  225 AC/DCMiller Maxstar 150C&H gasless MIGVictor Supper range IIMiller Elite Big Window7 X 10 mini lathe
Reply:AFAIK, all of the connections are different.  Hose threads are metric, instead of SAE, and their flare fittings are probably at different angles.  Tanks do not use CGA fittings (DIN comes to mind).If you really like your torch, you could keep it, and have new ends crimped on an hose to convert, but I do not know if there are adaptors to keep your regulators.  Maybe LWS would have weird parts like that.
Reply:I think Victor is pretty much used world wide. I was looking into a set of regs a couple of weeks ago and they have a variety of fittings availiable. All it involves is changing out the gland and the nut. I would recommend calling Victor. I talked to them a few weeks back and they not only told me the part number I needed to repair my obsolete since 1981 cutting torch but gave me the name and number of a place to get the part.The difference between art and craft is the quality of the workmanship. I am an artist.
Reply:Thanks for the input, maybe I wasn't clear.  I have the Victor super ranger II torch/reg set.  Should I just sell the whole rig here and get a new one when I get there or would it be cheaper to retro fit it to EU standards?  I know from my diving days the Euros measure gas pressure in BAR.  Could I make some sort of adapter to get my SAE threaded rig hoked up to a Euro bottle?  I'm just a hobbiest.Lincoln  225 AC/DCMiller Maxstar 150C&H gasless MIGVictor Supper range IIMiller Elite Big Window7 X 10 mini lathe
