Reply:Samm,You'll never bump your leg on it in the night that's for sure...Just thinking, with all that metal and all those metal projects you have going on, you ought to at least put you up a metal pole shed to get you out of the elements and give you a place to poke around in on a rainy day.   It really shouldn't be too much.  Around here you can by mixed "second" tin to cover the top, and for the sides, you could take a couple of old shipping containers and strip the metal off of them.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT

Reply:Probably is an OSHA approved color, can said "safety yellow", but I didn't read the fine printEd.......used a spray gun, pressure around 50-60psi due to the wind.  Four coats, thinned probably near on 60% paint, 40% mineral spirits.  High thinner ratio allows you to put a coat on and it doesn't fully flash between coats in high wind.  You still have a good semi tack coat to paint over on the second go around.  If not fully flashed, the next coats will blend into the previous coats without overspray marks.  Mineral spirits is a "slow" thinner, and works well outside"Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Overlap your passes, half the spray pattern should be on the previous pass.First coat should be a mist coat.  Don't try to hide the primer with the first pass.  The first pass is merely to give a "tooth" for the subsequent passes to adhere to.All the later passes are made to build the finish.  A little slower, but not too slow, you can get sags.Smoke a cigarette, or eat a candy bar, between passes to allow the thinner to flash.  Painting over insufficiently flashed coats can lead to orange peel.  The next layer seals the thinner in, and it trys to bubble out from underneath it when it evaporates."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/

Reply:Where do you put the batteries?   Man that sucker is bright...   Sam, you may not have a need for a tube notcher, but your creation has me thinking hard.
