Are the forney mig welder any good and where can I buy one. No welding supply around me sells them.
Reply:Gut feeling, with not a shred of evidence or knowledge of those machines to back it up, is that the Forney migs are re-badged. While Forney is still a major supplier to hardware stores and such for welding supplies, which BTW may also be re-badged, its been a few decades since Forney actually made welders...and they were usually stick welders at that. Forney made his fortune servicing the pent up need to run welders off the old REA electrical service that the midwest farmers had starting prior to WWII.As far as where you can buy one, here's a link to Forney. I should be a good place to start. http://www.forneyind.com/catalog/res...page=50&page=1Lincoln PrecisionTig 275Miller 251Miller DialArc 250Bridgeport millHossfeld bender & diesLogan shaperJet 14 X 40 latheSouth Bend 9" 'C'Hypertherm 900Ellis 3000 band saw21"Royersford ExcelsiorTwo shops, still too many tools. |
