Reply:I had a job like that once except it was the other way around. The architect who did the drawings was an idiot. The measurements for columns from the left side didn't match the measurements from the right side.  You were supposed to use the left measurements for 1/3 of the columns and the right side measurements for the rest.  No particular rhyme or reason as to which ones were to be measured from where as they were scattered thru out the whole basement. That was just the "simple" problem. There were about 2 dozen others at a minimum. Sad thing was he was also one of my professors at the time..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Too often the truth , gone to jobs and was told we dont need the erection dwgs , we can read the iron . The next one is the beam is above the deck ???  , how come the piece mark is upside down was my answer ???  The girder is too long you have to take it back and cut it . Answer job was ream assembled and checked by the NJDOT , you poured the backwalls too close due to you surveyors metric conversion. your erector can cut it . the list goes on and on all you need is a tape measure, square, level , and string  to provr them wrong.
