Amnesty turn in drop box

i was asked to make a box last week that U.S. Customs requires us to have on ship. The thing is that you are to be able to put things in but not take out. So with that said if someone is felling guilty for having some drugs or a special beverage and they dont want to be caught with it, put it in the box without being seen and nothing will happen to you. With those requirements i made this contraption to satisfy the need for this arts and crafts project to get them off my back about it so i could get back to other needed jobs. it is mounted high enough that while standing you can get your arm up to your elbow in and your hand will fit though the one way doors at the bottom of the drop tube. hope you all like. Reply:the ships Master at Arms or (MP) for other services has the key. they were mainly concered about bottles of beer or wine that were not turned in. that was the problem before as to what they found during surprise inspections of berthings. i lot of knives were found to, mainly small wepons. as far as wepons or ammo you can fit a pistol down it but if something like that was found that would open a whole mess of worms. we can buy guns overseas as long as we turn them in when we get to the ship.If you like my stuff you can find me on Facebook.  https://www.facebook.com/theangryanv...ngryanvilforge

Reply:Man, have times changed…Navy circa 1971….We had a locked suggestion box mounted to the bulkhead over a trash can.   Box had no bottom.

Reply:When I worked on an Army post the Ammo and explosives Amnesty turn in bunker was alway in site of a main road and cover by video cameras. Made me wonder how much amnesty one would have?Tough as nails and damn near as smart

Reply:All fine and dandy till some one drops a needle into it the next poor guy gets stabbed when he puts his pot in. This happened to a friend of mines mom at her work. She pushed some comments into the box that were on top bamm.. heroin needle under the nail. Someone diitched it in there. She is ok but it was verry tense for awhile.

Reply:So I understand this box, you get dope on shore and smoke on the ship.  Just before docking you ditch the dope before customs comes on board.Kind of defeats the purpose of a drug policy.
