Reply:some beads look way better than the one right next to it. are you trying lots of different things?or moving from one coupon to another to allow it to cool?
Reply:Looks like you need to dial up the "cleaning action".Oooops......My bad.......I was looking at the table top.
Reply:hard de har har... lol yeah my house is a mess at the moment. if the interview i just had pans out it may never get cleaned, lol. work never sounded so good. thanks for the comments. I found i ran a good bead and the next there would be a blob on the filler or a hole in my coupon. lol ahh, the learnin proccessRealgear 140 MIGMore DeWalt tools that I prolly needDIY 160 amp 40 OCV MOT Stick Welder
Reply:Looks very good, the bead in middle of first coupon my choice too. Try slowly decreasing current when you get to end of bead to fill in crater. Brian MoyerMoyer Welding & Fabrication LaSalle MI

Reply:[QUOTE=metalpool;377260]we just started aluminum in class. any pointers would be much appreciatedI spent a lot of time at the tungsten grinder lolWere you using pure tungsten (green)? If you were, you don't sharpen the tungsten. You want to have a ball on the end. That could be one of your problems. My suggestion is to turn down the heat and slow down. Your spacing is way too far apart. In all, looks pretty good though. Keep practicing you will get there |
