I took a day to work on my welder cart, seeing I'm waiting on my ram for the bender! Harbor Freight decided not to e-mail or call me that my ram was on back order they sent a postcard 3rd class mail.....which I never recieved! Now that I have waited 10 days with nothing from them untill I asked today. I have to re-order and wait 10 - 14 More days! Is there any other place out there to get a 8 TON air / hydraulic long ram jack for my bender?Ok I'm done pissin n moanin....... here are some pics of my cart.

Reply:Looking good!
Reply:You might try trading positions with the welders so the doors will swing open easier (look at pic 2). I also made a couple little "L" brackets that are attached to the bottom of both welders, that screw into the deck of the welder plate. Now they don't slide around & are real stable. I attached the "L" brackets to the welders using existing screws.MarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate Build
Reply:I swapped the welders so the doors would open.Today I put a couple of flags on the back for a handle I also put a piece of 1 x 1 tubing behind the welders.I think I'll replace the tin with 1/8" stainless I have Leftover from the hot dog cart.
Reply:I like your idea of the "L" brackets.Last edited by gbmetcalf; 04-08-2010 at 06:50 PM.
Reply:Just curious, but why the heck do you both of you guys have two of basically the same welder?
Reply:One was bought brand new, the other bought last year for $75.00. I really like the Hobart for welding heavy stuff, the Lincoln does a great job on thin stuff. One is set up with .030 solid wire, the other .035 Flux Core.............. until I decided to swap out the flux core for .023 solid wire for real thin stuff. The Lincoln is the one bought last year & set up with the .023 wire. Shelf under the welders was sized to hold a AC/DC stick welder.............. if I find one in my price range.MarkI haven't always been a nurse........Craftsman 12"x36" LatheEnco G-30B MillHobart Handler 175Lincoln WeldandPower 225 AC/DC G-7 CV/CCAdd a Foot Pedal to a Harbor Freight Chicago Electric 165A DC TIG PapaLion's Gate Build

Reply:Ordered a ram from Northern. As for the question about our welders..I bought the Lincoln SP 100 for small and thinMaterial. The Hobart 180 I picked up because my Hobart 210 was being worked on and I neededA 220v welder for my tube Bender project.
Reply:i like the cantilevered arm ...we don' need no stinkin gussets...
Reply:My son weighs 210 and he was standing on the end of the welder shelf.I think it will hold those welders just fine..... |
