Just finished this for a friend's '32 Ford Highboy.  The engine is a 2.6 liter Alfa Romeo 4-cam V8, originally installed in a limited production '69 Montreal.  The plenum is formed from 1/8 5052, the runners from .062 wall 1-5/8 6061-T6 tubing that was annealed.  I overheated one of the tubes, causing it to split, then had to anneal the top of them again to form the bell.  This one has both sides stirred up . . . the hotrodders think the Ford should have a flathead in it, and the Alfisti think it sacrilege to install the no-so-common engine in a hot rod.  'Must be doing something right
Reply:Nice work.Would luv to do work like that, but it would probably take me 6 months and 5+ attempts at it to get an acceptable job.Do you form the plenium ends too?Interesting that the manifold mounts with rubber tube and clamps. Is that like the OEM setup? Or does it make servicing easier?
Reply:I want to hear that Italian symphony running! got a sound clip or video to share? Awesome work, it's perfectly proportioned and fits the character of the car to a "T". Good looking welds too. And to the purists I'd say it's easier to find a '32 Ford than a '69 Montreal and that engine needs exercise, so you work with what you got.
Reply:Awesome job guy.  Got to love the car stuff.....

Reply:Wow! It's a work of art. Good job.
Reply:forhire beat me to it...that's art.
Reply:very cool, and who cares what motor people think they should put in a car. people put SBF,SBC and there is no reason a Alfa motor wont look good there.syncrowave 180 sd
Reply:Any shots of the whole car? Pictures dont work but someone went from a Nord to the 12v V6 in a hot rod.http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/engi...12-months.html

Reply:Most likely not. Just a Alfisti who browses around here and also AlfaBB. Always have enjoyed seeing video and pictures of the Spider.Engine looks fantastic sitting in there. Your friend must also be a big Alfa fan cause Im sure it would be cheaper and yield more power to go with a ford motor.
Reply:Thats really nice work, wish I knew more about hammerforming. If its not something top secret, would you be willing to let us know how many hours went into that "art"?Peter

Reply:Good Job!!...zap!I am not completely insane..Some parts are missing Professional Driver on a closed course....Do not attempt.Just because I'm a  dumbass don't mean that you can be too.So DON'T try any of this **** l do at home.
Reply:Excellent work! I am a big 105 series Alfa fan so love to see some Alfa recognition!Based on your avatar and location I suspect you are the engine builder for "Bonnie", the 232 MPH Bonneville Alfa!
Reply:It occurs to me that the owner of the '32 can say he has an "honest" Hemi in it, made by a pioneer in hemispherical combustion chambers.  Not some modern polysphere Hemi wantabe' from Mopar!
