I'm in the process of building a new welding table/workbench which has an amazing design so top secret that all I can show you is the drawers! Ok, truth is I've put the cart before the horse on this one because I came across free material to build the drawers with so I started there. Now I have 4 heavy duty drawers with no workbench to put them in... but I'll get there eventually What I really want to illustrate from the picture show below is a little yankee ingenuity on how to take one mans trash and turn into your own personal treasure. All material for this project came from a dumpster outside a fabrication shop. The drawers are 24"x20"x5.5" with the main box being 16ga and the front diamond plate being 14ga. The handles are made out of 1/2" rod and the finish is hunter green powder coat. The 16ga was bent greater than 90 degree so I started out over a 6x6 wood block to tap the angle back to 90. One leg of the bend was 12" so that's where I got the 24" width for the drawers from and I cut things up from there to finish the dimensions. Attached Images
Reply:There was some effort involved with getting the bends, bows and folds where I needed them, but this hobby is a labor of love. I made a wood frame to weld things up around to keep it square and ensure each drawer was the same as the others before it. Attached Images

Reply:Free steel is always good. Nice find and nice use. The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...
Reply:Very nice. Put some heavy duty full extension slides on those and you'll be set.
Reply:They look great, probably were cheaper and more fun to build than going to some stupid movie, but may put you in the middle of some controversy for a while; those looked like MAGNETS in the top picture on post #3!
Reply:you have showed us your drawers.now build something to put your drawers in.please dont show us whats in your drawers.nice work.
