Sintered Iron

I need to bore out a piece of sintered iron and bush it back to a smaller id...( 3/4" down to 5/8" ) and am thinking of tacking the bushing along with a light press fit...anyone know if welding sintered iron is possible?Walt

Reply:You could drill and tap 3 evenly spaced holes around the bushing and install small set screws to lock it in place.Also consider using a retaining compound like Loctite 609.
