Pipe practice advice....

Hey guys.Any suggestions for practice root passes on pipe with 6010,6011, and 7018.  Im thinking about using some 1/8" wall tubing to practice on, maybe 2" tubing.  I want to try and keep material cost down.  Any thoughts on this ?The first pic is with  Lincoln 6010 5p+ ran with a powerarc 200. The second is with 6011 ran with a 1970's Miller Dialarc 250.  Im used to running 6011 its kind of the way most roots are put in in the province unless they are put in with 7018 or Tig,  I just want to be able to run 6010 too..... Reply:I would forget about using 6011 for your pipe roots. 6010 is the code rod for pressure pipe work. Not many places want you to use 7018 for pipe roots.I would stick with your Miller dial arc and 6010 5P+ for your pipe root and hot pass. Then use 7018 for your fill and cap.Your roots look well. Maybe a wee bit much of reinformencent on the inside but thats easily workable. Your root looks fairly even all the way around.
