my ln 25 just took a dump on me yesterday and Im trying to figure out what happened its not sensing the voltage and its like its unplugged. the sensing wire is good and i dont know were else to check any advice would be great? Is there any fuses or breakers anywhere? its a 2001 model I think but I bought it on ebay 4 years ago
Reply:There is a glass Buss fuse inside. Like a one amp. I had to change mine once.David Real world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:where is it at in there? under the aluminum shield or somewere I can access without taking anything apart? I have looked over the outside and havent seen anything.
Reply:Like David said, probably the fuse(inside under the shield). Get 2 or 3 and tape 'em inside the box so you'll have 'em next time. It is rare they blow, in 35 years I think I've changed 2.....Something else is to check is your sensing wire. If it got twisted or something dropped on it, it may be broken in the insulation and you cant see it. Check continuity with a meter, and while you are in the box, make sure it didnt get pulled off the spade fitting...It happens
Reply:thanks for the help but for the life of me Im not seeing the fuse holder here is some pics of were Im looking at I checked continuity from the spade on the voltage senser to the clamp all good.
Reply:The fuse holder is on the circuit board. You might have to take the spool holder out (sheet metal) to access it.The small lead can also pull the spade off the switch if your strain relief isn't doing its job.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:Ya know, you did say an '01 model. I'm not sure if they even have a fuse in that one or not. I was thinking the older gray box when I posted. I dont know about the black box, never had any problems.....only thing is check all your switch positions, sometimes one will get bumped and not be fully engaged where it needs to be....thats about all I can help with,sorry...back to David...
Reply:thanks for the help I put it all back together and it worked not sure what was wrong. Thanks though.
Reply:Oftentimes, it's just the little gun-trigger connection, where the control wires plug into the cable right at the machine.
Reply:I unplugged that and plugged it back in and it worked so maybe thats what it was |
