Here is a pic of my simple but effective garage table top welder: The dimensions are approximate: Table top is 1/4" plate. About H-42" x W-42" x D-20". I'm limited on space within my garage, so it had to be on the small side. I also made the table top height rather high because I can't stand being hunched over with a bad back. This table allows me to stand tall. The frame is slightly less than 1/4" square tubing. The casters are all locking type rated at 300 lbs each. The casters are welded to the cross legs which are about 1/8" square tubing. The cross legs are bolted to the bottom of the verticle table legs, not welded. I did this in the event a caster broke, I could easily replace the entire cross leg with the caster attached on it. I don't plan on welding something that weighs a "ton" and for simple projects and a 140A Lincoln Electric, this fits me just fine. I can move it up and down the slanted driveway and in the garage with ease. I primed and spray painted it fire-engine red. I used .030 L-56 wire. Reply:Nice looking table.
Reply:Great looking table! Nice clean lines.Ah yes, painting it. When I had a front drive garage, mine got painted. Now with the garage at the back of the property shop fixtures don't get painted, they're just immediately put into service. Too bad.Like the paint job though.Sign on East Texas payphone: Calls to God 40 cents......it's a local call...

Reply:Nice clean looking table. The red paint nicely dresses up the overall appearance.Slight negative for the 'outrigger' legs. Although they do add a lot of stability to the table, I think I would be tripping over them all the time. YMMV.Oh, and you are supposed to post some close-ups of the welds, being as this -IS- Welding Web. The best laid schemes ... Gang oft agley ...

Reply:Looks A LOT BETTER than that welding table designed and fabricated by our friends selling the imported Chinese junk welders. That and it probably didn't take three months to build.Syncro 250 DX Dynasty 200 DXMM 251 w/30A SG XMT 304 w/714 Feeder & Optima PulserHH187Dialarc 250 AC/DCHypertherm PM 1250Smith, Harris, Victor O/ASmith and Thermco Gas MixersAccess to a full fab shop with CNC Plasma, Water Jet, etc. |
