Powering a MIG with TIG welder

I have an older Sears MIG 110V welder that really never worked well since there wasn't enough power to do anything useful. I now have a Lincoln 175 PRO TIG machine and was wonder how it would work to connect the welding leads over to the Sears unit. I think it should work unless there are some sort of differences in the Volt/Current characteristics in TIG and MIG welding.  I also would like to know if carbon arc rods are still available. I had an old arc rod and found that with the new welder you can really heat up metal with the carbon rod negative. It seems this would be a great way to get stuck and rusted parts loose. I never liked using a gas torch because  you have to very careful were the flame is going.Last edited by Taz; 12-14-2008 at 07:57 PM.

Reply:I just did a search for constant current and stick welding. Stick welding is constant current also my idea will it will not work in either mode.
