This may seem like an odd question considering there isn't much to go on...but.I am trying to trace down an old stick welder. It's probably from the 60's or 70's its just over a meter tall and about 80cm deep, its blue.It runs on 3 phase power. The most distinguishing feature of it is the Amperage selectors, instead of a winder it has a series of knobs..which go up in value 10amp, 20amp, 30 amp etc.... and you pull out a combination of them to select the power you want. For example if you want 150amps you pull 100amp, 30amp and 20amp I'm not sure how common this was.To be honest I'm not even sure whether this model only occured in Australia, or it was worldwide.Hopefully someone can help meCheers.

Reply:Sounds like a TAD 1, or 'Pie Warmer", as they generate a lot of heat out the top grill, they are 2 phase 415V, here in oz that is, does it have a rectangular black cover with 2 knobs about half way down ?

Reply:Do you have any more information on this welder? company? year of production? anything?it seems to be fairly rare because google only shows up one page on it.Last edited by toddl1; 01-22-2009 at 08:03 AM.
