I have gotten to the point of laying down nice beads with 6013 and 7014 rods but have trouble making a nice stop at the edge of the joint. It always sort of burns though when there is less metal to absorb the heat. I am wondering how most people deal with this. I have tried to shorten the arc at the end but still have a problems.
Reply:One method I've used: run a short bead, maybe an inch or so, starting from the edge and running away from that edge. Stop, chip slag, then start at the other end and finish at this short stitch weld. Just my $.02 worth.Bgbkwndo. |
