Hey, I'm pretty new to the site, but so far the knowledge of some of you guys just blows me away. So I figure we could get a thread going to capitalize on the expertise, and help the newer guys out. Soooo, I'd like to try it something like this:1-Post a picture of something YOU have TIG welded, whether it's good, bad, or ugly.2-Describe set-up: Machine, tungsten, cap, amperage, material, etc (in-depth as possible)-Now the hard part, hahah. Everyone gets to critique. Preferably only if you have experience and knowledge pretaining to the welded material. It would be best if you are as specific as possible, so that the less experienced guys can learn from the mistakes. Reply:This picture, what are the rippling lines (look like scratches or an EKG) above & below the weld? Is that where the cup was during the weld (walking the cup)? I don't have or have ever done TIG welding, so I'm just curious. If it's from the torch cup, were you walking the cup, or just moving the torch to manipulate the arc?
