I've got a Kempotig 250 AC/DC, but no foot pedal. A new one goes for- just the pedal- over $1300.I've been able to get a schematic of it, pedal model c100f, which shows components but not the values of any of them. It uses a transistor circuit to control, not just pots, as most other pedals seem to. Kemppi won't tell me any more about it, except a potentiometer only control won't work. Too bad, as I have a powcon pedal that I could have adapted. Does anyone have any info about the guts of a Kemppi pedal? BTW, this seems like a good machine, but absolutely no support in the USThanks,Scott
Reply:Kemppi is an excellent machine... u can order that in MY country and wait for 3 month... I like their welding auto helmet... now about the gut... mmm... nope I dont think I seen one in me life...Unit in my fab shop dept:my good hand and team that trust me...A lone welder make art... a village full of welder make Miracles...

Reply:I have talked to SSC- they get good reviews for their pedals. They just use pots in the circuit though. Kemppi tech says that won't work, their pedal uses a transistor and some other stuffScott
Reply:Might want to check some post and forums on resistance welding, I have heard of people making their own solid state timing circuits with silicon triodes, really isn't much difference in the circuit.I remember reading about one a couple months ago.Only instead of time you'd be changing amplitutde.Without a schematic though of the welder the difficulty for an electroinc engineer is because IC circuits are dc only, a good start at engineering would be to look at a touch light switch.I took an electronics service course 13 years ago, and could build one but cannot design one.Try here;Someone may be able to help youhttp://bbs.homeshopmachinist.net/for...daysprune=&f=9Last edited by pistolnoon; 02-18-2009 at 02:18 AM. |
