Anyone thinking of joining this union is nuts.  Corrupt to the core.  This just in.  The Pension Plan is under CRIMINAL PROBE by the Feds for corruption.  Here is the link:http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/05/1...geted-for.htmlMembership has declined from 72,000 in the year 2004 to under 59,000 today.  People are leaving the trade in droves.  The pension plan is broke. Reply:What with all the bashing on the boiler makers union lately? and all by first time posters? you know I have to question whether this is politically driven with the elections coming up since conservatives are anti union. Maybe the Boilermakers pissed off the some conservatives or tea party members cause they have some kind of political pull. Anyways other forums I am a part of dont allow political posts for this reason and especially by first timers.
Reply:Wake up pokerguy.  No politics here, just the truth which you are too brainwashed to see.  Many boilermakers are very pissed off at the corruption.   We are sick and tired of getting letters in the mail saying the pension needs more money while they are stealing from it in KC.  Boilermakers nationwide are VERY pissed off. Wages decreasing, dues at $6K per year???  Health fund is pathetic and costs twice what you could buy it on your own.    Do you actually READ the pension statements you get in the mail?  It's broke!  I'm just warning people to run away from this trade and stop throwing good money after bad as you'll never see it when the pension defaults.   Grow up and do some research on your own and see how bad the pension and corruption really are.  Remember this post when all the bobble-heads vote 'yes' to their slave masters at the union meeting.  When they force a vote to throw another $3.00 and hour at the BROKE pension plan this year....oh yes, it's coming.  Plus the fact that there's no wrok and all the coal plants are shutting down.  How's that Hope & Change working out for ya?Last edited by BMmeansBowelMovement; 05-23-2012 at 06:23 PM.
